Hyde Park Theatre is a critically acclaimed theater and production group in Austin, winning rave reviews from theater-goers and critics alike. The theater presents alternative productions and mines talent primarily from the Southwest while showcasing nationally acclaimed playwrights as well. Performances also include classical alternative-theater productions that are still relevant today.

Part of the theater's appeal is its intimacy: The venue seats 90 guests, and often patrons feel as if they are an integral part of the performance.

Accolades include dozens of Critic's Table Awards, including Outstanding Production of a Drama and Outstanding Production of a Comedy. Also, the group has won several B. Iden Payne Awards for Outstanding Drama and Outstanding Comedy.

Founded in 1992, Hyde Park Theatre also produces FronteraFest, a five-week fringe theater festival that features more than 800 local and national artists annually.
